On Tuesday 22/6/04 at 3.50am my dad went to sleep, he had struggled with ill health for some years, but this was his last struggle, and went peacefully to sleep Surrounded with Mum & family.
He was a lovely gentle loving person our dad, if he could help anyone he would, and never had a bad word against anyone.He was always pottering around his shed or garden, mending things or making things ,He liked a joke as well he would have you laughing and joking with him, and your sides aching with laughter! when you left dads company you always had a smile on your face.
He loved mum,..Marion with all his heart They had gone all through there school years together from the young age of 5 so they had known one another all there lives!!! they had many a good holiday to wales, Camping and caravaning he lived for mum and they went everywere together was never apart only for work etc.but loved one anothers company. They married at st Cathrine's church scholes on 14th October 1950 so had 54 wonderful years together, having 4 children who they worshiped and gave us a very happy childhood Allan, Julie, Gillian & Reece and 7 grandchildren Craig, Nicola gerryjo, Claire, emma,stuart & rachael. Of who he was so very proud of and loved spending time with his family. And his family loved being with him in return, we loved spending time with him chatting about the old times and things that he had done along the way, and mischief he used to get up to.. I really mis the chats, he was also a cleaver man there wasn't much he didn't know. He would advise you in the best possible way whatever the subject was. And he would give his last penny if we needed anything and he would be there before you could blink... no wasting time with our dad. But if any of his family was hurting he would hurt twice as hard.. he couldnt abide his family hurting over anything.
They say time heals, but dad all it does is make us think of you more each passing day, you are in our thoughts every day, we can laugh about you, and we can shed a tear thinking of you, and the pain you went through near the end. There is one thing for certain YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTEN!!!And always deaply loved!!
But one thing is for sure you left a empty house when you left us Dad thanks for being a very special in many ways And giving us such a very happy childhood and a very special husband to mum & a wonderful special dad & Granddad R.I.P sleep tight god bless xxx

Dreams drift away like leaves on the water.
